Vicious World: Updates Sundays!
Reader Response RE: 1.13 & 1.14; Also: PREVIEW
It's that time again, ladies and gents--reader replies and a sneak of this weekend's pages! Annnnd here we go:
Satia: Sometimes, a guy in a coat is just a guy in a coat.
(Or is he?)
(No, he's just a guy.)
(Or maybe he's not just a guy.)
(*cryptic music*)
Cary: I figure in this day and age of internet culture, "trollface" would be a very apt term that people would use IRL (well; I use it anyway.).
I'm glad you've taken an interest in this potential rivalry. My plans are to properly develop it, though given Tadasuke's rather light nature, it won't be anything that could take a turn for the SUPER serious. ^.~
And you can definitely expect more good-natured ribbing between Seong-Ho and Tadasuke. XD Glad you liked this week's installment!
Rennard: I admit; much of Seong-Ho's wacky antics are based on that of some of the wacky Korean people I know. He's more fun to write than he probably should be. XD
The U-
HaulHawl gag just seemed a good means of showing just how serious Tadasuke's subplot is...though that's not to say he'll be a gag character by any means. That's Seong-Ho's bag. XD Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the pages!
Steff: Ohhhh, that social time did me some good. I'll be doing it again at Dragon*Con; relevant details to come soon. ^.~
If he can't kick Chris in the face, he'll...he'll just show that can who's top tier! YEAAAAHHH!!
Brett: As I said to Satia, it could just be a random guy...or I could be pulling one of those numbers where something seemingly insignificant becomes a big thing further down the road. ^.~
I'm all about referring to Seong-Ho as Trollface. Troll-chan would also be acceptable, except that title belongs to a character from another fandom. XD
Razer: Methinks Seong-Ho will be known for trollfais'an...that is, if he uses it often enough. XD And yeah; Tadasuke's wristbands are based on Xiaoyu's...probably the only thing about Xiaoyu that I like.
HEY DON'T SPOIL THE ENDING
Right; so let's get a preview going for the next installment; 1.15 and 1.16. You'll want to recall the first two pages, if you forgot what happened (and I wouldn't blame you guys for forgetting since Chris was nowhere to be seen on those pages):
The next character gets introduced in these pages. I will say this much; this guy is absolutely screwed.
...I will be posting an update about Dragon*Con, as well as a contest soon!

Reader Replies and Preview!
Okay, so I'm a day late (you can thank deadlines, fatigue, the weather, and AWA prep), but I have replies and a preview to give! So let's go go go:
Razer: So I take it that you like the face mole? XP As for Tadasuke's headphones, I'm so fond of those big headphones...I wish I had a pair. D: Also, LOLing at Electric Wind Face Mole.
Steff: I could see that happening, too! He does play a good deal of DDR, so I imagine he gets just as flustered missing a beat in a fight as he does in DDR. I'm glad that his return/debut made your sick weekend suck a lot less. <3
animeandraia: A BELATED THANK YOU FOR THE BELATED WISHES.
I freakin' love Snorg Tees. They sent my order really quickly too, so I may have to place another order soonish! "Your Mother was a Hamster" is pretty damn amazing, too, and your local comic shop is awesome for carrying some of these fantastic tees.
It's been forever since I've drawn a fight scene, and while they'll be rather sparse for the time being, I hope I can draw them decently again soon. I wouldn't be surprised if I was channeling Buffy since I am a fan. XD As for him and Chris smacking down, that's definitely going to happen. And stuff will definitely get damaged.
Hunty: They've always been so difficult to draw, and I need to get back into drawing them more regularly as I struggled to get them drawn properly enough! But thank you for the kind remarks; I feel like I'm doing something right.
Zipchan: Perhaps the mole is a bit over-emphasised; I'll be sure to fix this in a later appearance (and I say this since continuity, etc.). It'll be a bit less prominent coloured illustrations since it'll be of a more natural colour, i.e. some shade of brown. Sorry you can't unsee! D:
Sheila: That reminds me; I need to set up a proper archive system (BEFORE AWA, SHADI), so that way anyone who falls behind can catch up.
As for Tadasuke, he's kinda of a mix of Tekken's Hwoarang and Lee Chaolan, stylistically speaking, with a bit of a beat to his step. It's been forever since I've drawn a fight scene, so I'm a touch rusty, but I'll definitely work hard to get that edge back. Thanks a bunch for the remarks!
Satia: The beauty mark is, more or less, just another step I'm trying to take to individualise characters more, as a means of literally illustrating that everyone is different, whether it's facial structure, body structure, etc. etc. blah blah blah technical artist talk. Anyway, thank you for the comment.
Okay~! It's preview time! Only two pages this weekend, but it serves to set up a future arc. Here's your panel:

Replies to 1.1+1.2; Preview of the next update
So, I figure since Wednesday is Preview Day (at least, I hope I can stick with this!), I should also use this post to reply to everyone that posted in the previous entry, so that they'll be easier to spot. Or until I can be bothered to properly reply to each post. ^^; So, let's do this thing:
erika: Ohohoho, you're gonna hate me so hard because each update will be pretty much all cliffhangers, all the time. Anyway, thank you! I think you'll be pretty pleased with what will go down in the next few weeks.
Hunty: Believe it or not, you're at the beginning now...so to speak. I'm still (slowly) working on character bios, but for now you don't really need to catch up on anything.
Brett: OH SHI--
Thank you! I'd like to be able to stick with it, as working on the old webcomic did some wonders for my skills.
satia: I'm glad you like the new layout better (the general consensus seems to agree as well). Sure, it's not pretty, but you're right; it does bring more attention the pages, and that's why everyone's here, right?
Psychoblue: Well, I drew my influences from quite a few artists over the years, so thank you. I would say something modest in regards to your comment about working for the big two, but I can recall some artists I know whose styles were pretty amateurish when they started out, only to improve immensely as time went on.
Sarah: It missed you too. ^.~
Rennard: Yes, yes you can!
I really appreciate your comment in regards to my characters. Even in the 2+ year hiatus I took from working on this, I just couldn't let the boys go (as evidenced by the printed books that I still need to send you. And then some.). I think I've really gotten a better handle of them now, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
And yes; soon we will see Chris. And usually where there is Chris, Dante isn't far behind.
...or is that Seong-Ho?
Giuly_Chan: Thank you! You can thank my high school art teacher for really driving home the importance of shading technique! As for my faces, I have always enjoyed drawing expressions--it really helps keep my interest in my comics during non-action sequences, and I hope it keeps people interested as well since even though nothing is happening per se, the characters maintain an interest through their questionably winning personalities. :D
Alright! It's time to show a little teaser for the next page set, which will be 1.3 and 1.4:

...for those familiar with the old continuity, the schoolgirls are back, and more relevant than ever. For those new to the series, there's schoolgirls! You'll learn more about them this Sunday!
